Mataracú Tent Camp is an idyllic resort. The Tent Camp has been adapted to the topography of the area, leaving intact the original trees, its pristine rivers and air. By using environmentally safe technology it can offer the guests the option of being in touch with the nature without the need to sacrifice comfort.

Strategically located as a point of departure for multiple expeditions, the Tent Camp will allow you to explore the deepest areas of the always green, diverse and enigmatic jungle of Amboró.

PROGRAM 2 DAYS - 1 NIGHT:

TIME          ACTIVITY

DAY 1:
08:00 Drive to the Mataracu Tent Camp by 4-WD.
10:00 Arrival at the MTC. Guidance chat.
11:00 Visit the famous Bibosi (Ficus) named "La Torre Eiffel Ecológica", a capricious wonder to
                see and to understand all its splendor and natural essence.
11:30 Free time to enjoy the fresh and cristal clear water of the natural swimmingpool at the MTC.
12:30 Lunch.
14:00 Guided hike along the"Pozas" path which leads us through the interesting primary and
          secundary forests in Amboro National Park , where we enjoy the fascinating dense and
          diverse vegetation of the tropical rainforest together with the mysterious sounds of birds and
          insect like a true natural sympony. We have also the opportunity to visit the dinosaur fossil
          and the magistic group of waterfalls and the deep pools of the green ravins, where it is
          possible to dive and have fun in the clean waters.
17:00 Return to the MTC where we enjoy a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
19:00 Dinner.
20:00 Free time or optional night hike.

DAY 2 OPTION A:

06:00 Breakfast at the Mataracu Tent Camp
07:00 Hike throught the "Dinosaurios" path. This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
           Amboro National Park , where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
          here and find there traces. We go to the mysterious caves and the enormous ravins, where
          we see the fossils of a dinosaur specie that is new founded by science.
11:00 Arrival at the "Dinosaurios" waterfalls where we have a refreshment, enjoy the cristal clear
          waters, the majestic landscape and have a delicious rural lunch.
12:30 Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp
16:00 Time to relax and taste delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
19:00 Return to Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz .

OPTION B:

06:00 Breakfast at the MTC.
07:00 Hike to the "Cajones del Yapacaní". This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
           Amboro National Park , where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
          here and find there traces.
10:00 Arrival at the "Cajones del Yapacaní", where we take a refreshment and enjoy the fresh
           water and white beaches of this river, which is one of the southest tributaries of the famous
           Amazone river.
12:00 Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp.
15:00 Time to relax and have a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
16:00 Return to Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz .

OPTION C:

06:00 Breakfast at the Mataracu Tent Camp.
07:00 Hike to the "Los Vencejos" waterfall. This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
           Amboro National Park , where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
          here and find there traces. We enjoy the adventrue of this trip at the upper riverbed named
          the " Pedregosa" ravin, which has a lot of wonderfull waterfalls and natural pools.
10:00 Arrival at the "Cascada Los Vencejos", where we enjoy this marvelous spectacal by seeing
          the Vencejos waterfall. Acrobatic birds, like tiny fighter planes, fly quickly from there nests
          over the waterfall to find food. After a drink and a little bit of relaxation, we go to enjoy the
          cristal clear waters of the natural pool. Before going down we will see a colony of bats that
          live in caves at the side of the ravin.
13:00 Rural lunch (lunch-box).
14:00 Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp
17:00 Time to relax and have a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
16:00 Return to the Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz .

DO NOT FORGET TO BRING THE FOLLOWING THINGS:

Light cotton clothes, preferably in colors beige or green.
A sweater or rain coat.
Bathing suit.
Repellent.
Sun cream.
Suitable shoes for hiking.
Flashlight. (not essential)
Camera.
Binoculars. (not essential)
Personal necessary medicines.
Most important: a positive attitude to have a good time.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING THE FOLLOWING THINGS:

Portable music equipment. It is better to enjoy the natural sounds.
Pollutant substances, to prevent the environment getting dirty.
Perfumes, they attract wasps and bees!
Drugs.
Neither food nor drinks.
Fire weapons or any kind of knives, they are not allowed in the park.
