The SelvaBlue Wilderness Lodge**** (former Hotel Los Lagos, Swiss owned) is located in the Amazon basin in the department Beni, Bolivia.
The Selva Blue lodge is an excellent place for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
This lodge is so remote it can almost only be reached by a small chartered airplane. Because of its remote location, protected status and different habitats a wide range of flora and fauna can be found here.
The park contains many different habitats on a relatively small surface: a big lake with crystal clear water, the Delta (river mouth with impenetrable vegetation), five lakes with the typical brown water of the region, surrounded by forest of palm trees, river Arroyo Negro with intact frienge of forest, Pampa monte (savannas with trees), savannas without any trees, swampy primary rainforest with high old trees, dry primary forest, secundary forest, swamps, humid grass meadows, dry grass meadows next to the river, rainforest islands in the wide savannas.

In the region of Los Lagos there are approx. 300 lagoons and lakes, 11 of them are very large and 1 of them has got crystal clear water, which is very unique. The importance of water was also well known to the ancient culture called the 'earthmovers', which were living in the Beni approx. 2000-3000 years ago. The rio Beni culture (the earthmovers) is shown to visitors of the park not only through its ruins (wide flieds of more than 1000 km2) which can be seen from the air during the flight to Selva Blue Lodge, but also hidden little grave hills, shards and more to discover.
All this makes this place also attractive to visitors interested in archeology.

Infrastructure: The SelvaBlue Wilderness Lodge**** is situated on the beach of the only lake this big in South America with crystal clear water.
The lodge with good infrastructure offers first class quality service, in the middle of the jungle "at the end of the world". In the tropical garden you can enjoy the swimming pool and the pool bar. The beach is only 150 meters away from the restaurant. Guests have different places where they can enjoy their meals: the veranda of the restaurant with an excellent view to the lake, in the pool bar, in the garden or in the main restaurant. There are two types of luxury rooms: four bungalows situated 200 meters away from the restaurant, they give you the feeling of total privacy. Each unit has a big veranda overlooking the lake. Rooms with all the facilities: comfortable modern looking furniture, minibar, electricity, private bathroom with hot shower. Seven suites next to the restaurant with a big living room, bathrooms with bathing tube and hot water, electricity, minibar.

The lodge counts with 1 pick up truck, 7 motor boats, horses, 4 observation towers (one with overnight facilities), 1 house with sleeping facilities at the beach of Laguna Dichosa, own landing strip in front of the hotel.
Last but not least: there are no mosquitos in the hotel area and on the lakes thanks to a nice breeze.
The temperature of the lake is approx. 26 centigrades and this makes it very pleasent to swim those beautiful crystal clear waters and observe the fishes swimming around you.

Bolivia is said to contain 13,3% of the world bird species. Similarly it supports 6,3% of the global diversity of vertebrate species. Equally impressive is Bolivia's plant diversity with a current estimate of 20.000 species. The diversity of species of fish in Bolivian rivers is about 8 times larger than in rivers in France or 3 times that of tropical Africa.
