In the Cradle of the Inca Empire – Titicaca lake with overnight stay on Sun island (Ecolodge “La Estancia”)
Day 1: La Paz/Puno – Copacabana – Sun Island
Enjoy a scenic journey in private transportation from La Paz or Puno to Copacabana (approx. 3.5 hours), with stunning views of Lake Titicaca along the way. Explore this charming lakeside town, visiting its church and the renowned “Dark Virgin” (Virgen Morena). Then, embark on a boat ride across Lake Titicaca to Sun Island (approx. 1 hour), stopping at Huancani for a traditional Aptapi lunch. Continue by boat to the Inca temple ruins of Pilkokaina. From there, hike up to the La Estancia Eco-lodge (approx. 1 hour), enjoying breathtaking lake views throughout the ascent.
Day 2: La Chincana – Moon Island – Copacabana – La Paz/Puno
Start the day with breakfast and a beautiful sunrise, followed by a descent down the Inca stairs of Yumani and a visit to the Fountain of Eternal Youth. Then, travel by boat to the northern part of Sun Island to explore the ruins of La Chincana and the Sacred Rock (approx. 1 hour). Continue by boat to Moon Island (approx. 1 hour) to visit the Inca temple ruins of Iñak Uyu. Finally, return to Copacabana (approx. 1.5 hours) and transfer back to La Paz or Puno (approx. 3.5 hours).
Day 1: La Paz/Puno – Copacabana – Sun Island

Then board a motorboat for a trip to the legendary Sun Island (approx. 1 hour), stopping at Huacani for a traditional Aptapi—a highland-style lunch. Continue by boat to the Inca ruins of Pilkokaina Temple. Finally, hike up to La Estancia Eco-lodge (approx. 1.5 hours), enjoying spectacular views of Lake Titicaca along the way.
Day 2: La Chinkana on Sun Island
Don’t miss the sunrise!
After breakfast, hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Fountain of Eternal Youth. Then take a boat north to explore the ruins of La Chinkana and the Sacred Rock (approx. 1 hour). Enjoy a short hike (approx. 45 minutes) to the village of Challapampa. Return to the Eco-lodge with an optional hike back (approx. 2.5 hours). Spend the afternoon at your leisure, soaking in the tranquility and magic of this sacred island.
Day 3: Sun Island – Moon Island – Copacabana – La Paz/Puno
Descend once more through Yumani, passing the Inca Garden and stairways, and board a boat to the Island of the Moon. Visit the Inca temple ruins of Iñak Uyu, then continue by boat to Copacabana (approx. 1.5 hours). Finally, return by private transportation to La Paz or Puno (approx. 3.5 hours).
